The first signs of green have returned to The Northern Gas and Power Stadium after the summer makeover of the Club’s playing surface.
Head Groundsman Dave Brown has been keeping a watchful eye over the progress since the pitch was stripped and then re-seeded last week.
Now, seven days on from that seeding, the first shoots of green have begun to appear and he’s crossing his fingers for some friendly weather over the Bank Holiday weekend.
“This heat of the last couple of days has been good and now we could do with some rain – which seems to be forecast for Saturday afternoon.
“I might be the only person who is hoping it rains over the weekend but that’s what the pitch needs so I will make no apologies!”
