Pools Reserves will bring down the curtain on their Central League campaign when they make the trip to face Chesterfield at The Proact Stadium on Tuesday afternoon (1pm kick-off).
John Hewitson will lead a very youthful line-up in their encounter with The Spireites; goalkeeper Ben Dudzinksi and defender Josh Nearney (both 21) are the most senior players in the starting eleven.
Pools Reserves are already guaranteed to finish in at least the runners-up spot in the North East Division and victory at Chesterfield would also keep alive their slim hopes of landing the title.
Grimsby Town are top of the table on goal difference and The Mariners will clinch the title if they can match Pools’ result when they host Rotherham United on Tuesday afternoon.
“It’s nice that we still have that little something to play for at this stage in the season,” admitted Hewitson.
“Overall, it’s been a positive season for our Reserves side so we want to finish it off strongly with a good performance and another positive result at Chesterfield.
“We do have a young side but I would expect Chesterfield to be similar so it will be a competitive game and hopefully we can come out on top.”
Admission at The Proact Stadium is free for all supporters and we’ll have a full report and reaction here on the Official Website following the final whistle.
