Pools Reserves are in Central League action on Tuesday afternoon when they make the trip to face York City at Bootham Crescent (1pm kick-off).
Sam Collins will take charge of a largely youthful squad for the game with the Club working this morning to get clearance for at least one trialist to feature against The Minstermen.
The Reserves are currently joint of the Central League East Division alongside Grimsby Town and Tuesday’s game is a chance to extend the gap on third-placed York City who are six points behind.
Collins will hope that the team can bounce back to form after suffering a surprise 3-0 defeat at bottom-placed Rotherham United in their last outing two weeks ago.
“We’ve got a young squad but we are going there confident we can get a positive result,” he told us.
“It is a bonus that the game is being played at their First Team stadium because some of our younger players will enjoy that so it’s up to them to go out and produce a strong performance.
“We’ve seen already that there is a pathway in to the First Team for the players who do well at Reserve level so that has to act as inspiration for the lads in the team to show what they can do.”
The game at Bootham Crescent is free entry for all supporters and we’ll have a full report and reaction from the game following the final whistle.
