Carl Magnay took another step towards fitness on Wednesday afternoon when he played 45 minutes for the Reserves in a behind-closed-doors friendly.
The full-back has been out of action since September when he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in a game against Mansfield Town.
Following surgery it had been expected that Magnay would be sidelined for the rest of the season but he has made an astonishing recovery and is now eyeing a return to action this term.
The friendly was organised at the Club’s training ground against a Nike Academy XI and Pools Reserves ran out 4-2 winners thanks to a hat-trick from young midfielder Josh Hawkes and a goal for loan man Louis Rooney.
Meanwhile, Youth Team midfielder Ethan Wood has been allowed to go out on a period of work experience with EBAC Northern League Division One outfit Jarrow Roofing BCA.
