A year to the day since Jeff Stelling set off on his epic walk from Pools to Wembley, the Club’s Honorary President is preparing for another charity challenge for Prostate Cancer UK.
It was on 21st March 2016 that Jeff and friends set off from Victoria Park on a trek which would see them cover an astonishing 260 miles in just ten days – and this year it’s getting even crazier!
The Soccer Saturday presenter is hitting the road again on Friday 2nd June when he’ll attempt to walk from Exeter City’s St James’ Park to Newcastle United’s St James’ Park – completing an outrageous 15 marathons in 15 days on the way.
Jeff will once again be joined by a host of willing volunteers and celebrity friends as he covers 400 miles and calls-in on 40 football clubs before reaching Newcastle on Friday 16th June.
“After the agony and ecstasy of the walk last year – particularly the agony – so many people have been in touch with stories of their battle against prostate cancer and so many wanted to say thank you to me, Russ Green and to Prostate Cancer UK for their support,” Jeff explained.
“It makes me feel very humble but it also makes me feel very gratified that I’m in a position where I can do something. Prostate cancer kills one man every hour in the UK and I just decided that I couldn’t sit on my backside and do nothing about it.
“I can put one foot in front of the next and hopefully raise awareness and raise funds to help men beat the diabolical disease.”
You can now book your place alongside Jeff on his charity challenge by paying a £25 registration fee and pledging to raise a minimum of £300 in sponsorship to help stop prostate cancer being a killer.
