It’s Down To The Players Now - Jones

24 March 2017

Pools are set to be backed by a bumper following of away fans at Blackpool on Saturday and boss Dave Jones has challenged the players to reward them all with a strong performance.

Ticket sales in the away end have already moved past 1,400 for the game at Bloomfield Road meaning Jones’ men will be cheered on by the Club’s biggest travelling support of the campaign.

And after bringing to an end a near six month wait for an away win at Cambridge United last week, Jones has now told the players they must produce on the road once again on Saturday.

It’s fantastic support for the lads,” he told Pools PlayerHD.

“I said the other day that we wanted as many fans as possible coming to watch but that’s a great following and it should make for a brilliant atmosphere.

“I have nothing but praise for our supporters, both the ones who travel all the distances and the ones who watch us at home – if we can get better then hopefully we can get even more bums on seats.

“At the minute we just need to get safe and then we can look at building for the future and making sure that we don’t get in to this situation again.

“We have to take one game at a time, get as many points on the board as possible and remember that we can’t take anything for granted – that’s what we’ll be telling the players.

“If we play the way we can then we’re capable of winning football matches; the fans have done their bit so it’s down to the players now.”
