We Showed Character - Hignett

2 January 2017

The Pools boss was happy to see his side show the belief to twice come from behind to take a point at Accrington Stanley.

“Yes and no,” was Craig Hignett’s response when asked if he was happy with his side’s draw at Accrington Stanley.

“I’m pleased because we went behind twice in the game and managed to come back both times but then I’m not best please because I thought we gave away two very poor goals.

“I didn’t think we were great with the ball to be honest, though defensively we looked fine again and I couldn’t see us conceding two goals, but we did.

“I’m just pleased that we showed enough character and belief to score two goals and get something from the game.

“Fair play to them, they came back again and I thought they got what they deserved as I didn’t think we deserved to lose the game.

Hignett also explained the reason for Trevor Carson missing the game,

“Trevor has been struggling with his shoulder for a while now and it’s got too much for him. So we’ll have it looked at and see what happens with that.”
