Thomas Strike Voted Pools Goal Of 2016

17 January 2017

Nathan Thomas’ outstanding chipped goal in the 3-0 win at Grimsby Town in October has been crowned Pools’ finest of 2016 in a fans vote.

We drew up a shortlist of stunners scored by Pools over the last twelve months and asked supporters to have their say on which one was the best.

Votes arrived thick and fast on the back of the release of our video montage and it quickly emerged that winger Thomas’ incredible effort at Blundell Park was the front-runner.

The deadline for votes passed on Sunday night and a quick count confirmed Thomas as the overall winner, with Lewis Hawkins’ first goal at Barnet in April just behind in second place.

Watch all of the goals again below in our YouTube shortlist for Goal of 2016.
