Team News: Accrington Stanley v Pools

1 January 2017

We take a look at the latest from both camps ahead of Monday’s Sky Bet League Two game against Accrington Stanley at The Wham Stadium (3pm kick-off).

Craig Hignett will run the rule over Matthew Bates after the defender was forced to sit out Friday evening’s win over Morecambe with a back injury.

Young full-back James Martin also remains a doubt with the knee injury which has kept him out of the last three games, while Rob Jones is also still sidelined. Carl Magnay (knee) and Nathan Thomas (knee) are both also out.

Accrington Stanley boss John Coleman restored Sean McConville to the centre of defence for the win at Crewe Alexandra on Saturday and he should keep his place to face Pools.

Aaron Chapman has been preferred in goal during recent games and is likely to continue between the posts on Monday with Jack Little deputising on the bench.
