Pools have completed their second Deadline Day signing with the arrival of striker Louis Rooney on loan from Plymouth Argyle.
The 20-year-old was on the bench for The Pilgrims during their 2-1 defeat at Yeovil Town on Tuesday night before immediately penning a deal which brings him to the North East for the remainder of the campaign.
Fans may remember Rooney for his stunning two-goal performance in Argyle’s 5-0 win over Pools at Home Park on the final day of last season, which included a spectacular lobbed effort.
The Plymouth-born front man has been on the books at his hometown club since he was just 9 but is keen to challenge for more regular First Team football during his spell with Pools.
Rooney will now go straight in to contention for Saturday’s League Two game against Yeovil Town.
