Josh Laurent has completed a Deadline Day move to Championship outfit Wigan Athletic for an undisclosed fee.
The midfielder travelled to Lancashire on Tuesday afternoon where he passed a medical before putting pen to paper on a contract with The Latics.
Laurent, who spent time with both Wycombe Wanderers and Queens Park Rangers as a youngster, joined Pools from Brentford on the final day of the January 2016 transfer window.
After making a handful of appearances at the end of last term, the 21-year-old more firmly established himself in the First Team at the start of the current campaign.
His eye-catching form not only earned him a new contract with Pools in November but also a string of admirers from higher divisions and the Club was always braced for interest.
Laurent will now challenge for his place in the First Team at The DW Stadium as Athletic look to move clear of the Championship relegation zone.
