Kenton Richardson is facing a spell on the sidelines after suffering a suspected fractured collarbone during Saturday’s defeat to Maidenhead United.
The young right-back was restored to the starting eleven to face The Magpies but was forced off during the first half after a heavy fall following a foul.
Medical staff will be assessing him further over the weekend but boss Craig Harrison admitted they are fearing the worst.
“We think he might have fractured his collarbone which is obviously a nasty one,” he explained.
“He’s been brilliant this season; he got his debut last year and he’s built a foundation for a young player and gone on to play six or seven games this season and never let us down.
“He started the game well, got up the wing and got a few crosses in but then I think it’s just the way he’s landed that’s cause the problem so the suspicion is that it’s his collarbone but we’ll wait and see.”
