Four Pools stars helped spread some festive cheer as another group of Hartlepool youngsters enjoyed a Christmas Party to remember at The Vic on Monday.
Ryan Catterick, Jonathan Franks, Scott Harrison and Lewis Hawkins all called in to surprise the teenagers who were there as part of the Club’s ongoing link with Hartlepool Virtual School and the Children’s Services at Hartlepool Borough Council.
Twenty of the most deserving children were invited along to The Vic where they were given a tour of the stadium, given time to wrap Christmas presents and then enjoy a special party lunch.
Then there was the big surprise as the four players arrived to meet them armed with selection boxes and signed squad photos, spending an hour chatting to them, posing for photos and playing table football and FIFA.
“It is always nice to do these sorts of things, particularly at Christmas,” explained Franks.
“We really enjoyed meeting the kids and spending some time with them – though I think they need to practice their table football skills because I was easily the best at that!
“You could see how much it meant to them for us to be there and give them some gifts so hopefully they had a good time at their Party and it helps them have a really good Christmas.”
The party was the second in a week to be held at The Vic in connection with Hartlepool Virtual School after boss Craig Harrison and his wife Danielle treated primary school children to an unforgettable afternoon last Wednesday.
