We turn our focus to Saturday's action with a full and in-depth preview of our first-ever visit to Crabble Athletic Gro

Dover Athletic v Hartlepool United
Vanarama National League
Saturday 9th December 2017
Crabble Athletic Ground

In Opposition
Dover Athletic have emerged as real candidates for promotion after a strong first half to the National League campaign which sees them sitting fifth ahead of the clash with Pools this weekend.

Chris Kinnear’s side showed how effective they can be when they welcomed Pools to the division by grinding out a 1-0 win at The Vic when the sides met on the opening day of the campaign.

However, they’re without a win in their last four games and lost to AFC Fylde on their last outing on home soil so they’ll be looking to get back in to form when Craig Harrison’s men arrive this weekend.

Star Man
Former Pools loan man Ryan Bird has been an ever-present in the league this season for The Whites and has top scored with nine goals so far.

The forward scored twice in six games for Pools in 2015 before moving on to spells with Yeovil Town, Eastleigh and Newport County prior to signing for Dover in the summer.

Bird enjoyed a great start to his Dover career but now hasn’t found the net since scoring four times in three games during October.

Head To Head
The meeting on the opening day of the season was the first between the sides and it saw Dover Athletic run out 1-0 winners at Victoria Park.

Richard Hulme will take charge of his second Pools game this weekend when he’s on the whistle for our trip to Dover Athletic.

The official is in his first season on the list of National League referees and also oversaw us in action during our 1-1 draw at Woking in September.

His most recent appointment came during Eastleigh’s 2-2 draw with Maidenhead United just over two weeks ago.
