Antony Sweeney and Brian Honour will line-up on the same team on Sunday

A host of Pools legends are set to take to the pitch this weekend in a charity game to raise money for Horden Community Welfare Football Club.

Brian Honour is leading a line-up of Pools all-starts against Horden in the game which takes place at Horden’s Welfare Park on Sunday 27th August (2pm kick-off).

Micky Barron, Ian McGuckin, Rob McKinnon, Tommy Miller and Antony Sweeney are among those donning their boots to play alongside Honour in an event organised in conjunction with Hartlepool United’s Supporters’ Trust.

Event-organisers are also welcoming donations of £50 for the chance to be part of a roll-on/roll-off substitutes’ bench giving you the chance to play alongside some of your heroes! If you’re interested in this then email membership@hufcsupporterstrust.org.uk

Admission to the game is £2 for adults and £1 for Under 16s, while there will also be souvenir programmes on sale for just £1.50.

Let’s make sure there are plenty of Pools fans there to cheer the team on this Sunday and good luck to all involved!
