Victoria Park is set to play host to celebrity team Once Upon A Smile in a charity game on Saturday 16th September (3pm kick-off).

Stars such as Ralph Little (Royle Family), Jake Quickenden (X Factor), Danny Miller (Emmerdale), Tom Turgoose (This Is England) and Dean Smith (Waterloo Road) are all expected to take to the pitch at The Vic.

As well as that, a selection of ex-professionals will also be in action on the day, including Frank Sinclair, Paul Dickov and Carlo Nash – while it’s also hoped there will be some famous faces from Pools’ past taking part as well!

It’s a game which is being organised by town cancer charity Miles For Men and it is hoped a large crowd will turn up to enjoy a memorable occasion at The Vic.

All proceeds from the charity match will be split between Miles For Men and Once Upon A Smile, which is a Manchester-based bereavement charity which provides emotional and practical support to families.

“We have got a decent group of players coming over and some fantastic names,” revealed Miles For Men patron Rob Collier.

“We are very excited. As a charity, Miles For Men is looking for different ways to put Hartlepool on the map and it has raised nearly £250,000 to date and we’re looking to increase that.

“Hartlepool United have been fantastic, particularly Mark Burrows and Pam Duxbury. They have been a real asset in making the game happen.”

Once Upon A Smile have a large travelling support, so those wanting to buy tickets for the game are urged to do so quickly.

Tickets are available now from Advanced Retail Solutions by calling 01429 812 410.
