A group of Pools fans had a morning to remember last weekend when they won a VIP Training Ground experience courtesy of EFL partners Wickes.
Chris Thebe was joined by his stepdad Dennis, son Thomas and his son’s friend Alfie at the Club’s Racecourse training complex last Thursday where they met players and management.
Then-boss Dave Jones talked to them in his office before training got underway and passed on advice to Thomas and Alfie, who are both play junior football for Bishop Auckland St Mary’s.
After joining the players for breakfast, the four then got a close-up view of the morning’s training session as they watched the squad being put through their paces in readiness for the Barnet game.
As a special surprise, Trevor Carson then invited Thomas – an aspiring goalkeeper – to do some specialist training during which the Pools star tested the youngster’s handling with penalties, free-kicks and half-volleys.
The day was rounded off when the fans were then able to enjoy lunch with the players and staff in the training ground canteen – during which Carson signed a pair of his gloves for Thomas.
We hope you all had a great day!
