Team News: Grimsby Town v Pools

29 September 2016

We take a look at the latest from both camps ahead of Saturday’s League Two game against Grimsby Town at Blundell Park (3pm kick-off).

Craig Hignett will be without Nicky Featherstone for Saturday’s game at Grimsby Town as the midfielder begins a three-game ban following his red card against Luton Town.

However, Scott Harrison will be back in contention after serving his one-match suspension, while Rob Jones (hip), Matthew Bates (bone bruising) and Michael Woods (calf) are all moving closer to fitness.

Padraig Amond and Toto Nsiala are both in line to start against their former club, but fellow ex-Mariner Carl Magnay is out long-term after rupturing his cruciate ligament.

Grimsby boss Paul Hurst could be tempted to keep the same side for a third consecutive game after seeing Town win 1-0 against both Mansfield Town and Newport County.

Defender Josh Gowling has missed the last two games through injury and could be sidelined again as The Mariners welcome Pools to Blundell Park this weekend.
