Young Pools defender Josh Nearney has joined Whitley Bay on a one-month loan deal.
The 21-year-old will go straight in to contention for a debut when the Northern League Division One outfit travel to Jarrow Roofing on Saturday afternoon.
Ian Chandler – who won the FA Vase four times during a record-breaking previous spell in charge – is back at the helm at Hillheads and was keen to take Nearney on loan.
“Getting out and playing more senior football is the logical next step for Josh,” explained Pools boss Craig Hignett.
“It will be more beneficial for him at this stage of his career to be playing regular games at that level than in our Reserves so hopefully he enjoys the opportunity and thrives on the experience.”
Meanwhile, Youth Team midfielder Dylan Elliott is set to spend a month on work experience in the same league when he joins Bishop Auckland.
