Craig Hignett has insisted that the pressure will be all on Carlisle United as Pools look to underline their impressive away form at Brunton Park on Saturday.
Hignett’s side have not tasted defeat in the last six games and have produced some of their best form on the road so far, highlighted by the fact they’re among the top scorers in the country on their travels.
Carlisle are still unbeaten after their impressive 3-0 win at Morecambe last time out and boss Keith Curle is hoping they can attract a bumper crowd at the weekend for the visit of Pools.
“The pressure will be on them to come out and attack,” Hignett told Pools PlayerHD.
“They do play expansive football so we have to be tight, hard to beat and then do what we do; they’re in front of their home fans if there’s a bigger crowd there then that is a bit of extra pressure too.
“It’s a game we should enjoy playing in; we have some good footballers and people who like the big occasion and will relish it so we have to go there and perform and, if we do, we’re capable of coming away with a positive result.
“Carlisle are in a rich vein of form as well so I am expecting a tough game and it’s one we can judge ourselves on because they’ve had a really good start to the season.
“I suppose you could call this our derby too – we know it’s always a big game and one the fans look forward to and we’re looking forward to it as well.
“We want our fans to leave away games buzzing and we know that they will certainly do that if we get the right result there on Saturday.”
