Thomas Misses Out On Monthly Award

7 October 2016

Pools’ in-form winger Nathan Thomas has narrowly missed out on the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month award for September.

The 22-year-old midfield star has been on fire in recent weeks and helped himself to all five goals scored by Pools during the month – but it still wasn’t enough to land him the gong, which has gone to Notts County’s Jon Stead.

Thomas’ haul helped Pools claim all three points at Yeovil Town when he scored both goals as Craig Hignett’s men came from behind to beat The Glovers 2-1.

He was on target again during the visit to his former club Plymouth Argyle a fortnight later – scoring in spectacular fashion as Pools almost claimed another three points against the league-leaders.

And then the unstoppable wide man smashed home the opening goal as Pools took a point from high-flying Luton Town in the final game of the month.

However, Magpies star Stead also scored five goals during September and a judging panel went with the striker as he was crowned League Two’s Player of the Month.
