Fewster And Hawkins To Be Assessed

4 October 2016

We bring you the latest injury news after Brad Fewster and Lewis Hawkins were taken off against Sunderland.

Brad Fewster is set to return to parent club Middlesbrough for treatment after being forced off with a hamstring injury during the first half of Tuesday’s game against Sunderland.

The front man was handed his first start in Pools colours but was withdrawn inside 25 minutes and Craig Hignett has revealed that he looks likely to be missing for at least a fortnight.

Pools also lost Lewis Hawkins to injury earlier in the game after he felt his hamstring tighten and that will also be assessed by medical staff at the training ground.

“Brad has done his hamstring – it looks like a tear,” revealed Hignett.

“He’s been assessed by Buster and he’ll go back to Middlesbrough for treatment but it looks like two to four weeks out which is a massive blow because he’s looked sharp in training.

“Hopefully with Lewis it’s just a sciatic thing and nothing too serious but that’s one we will have to look at again in the morning.”
