Fans Pay Tribute To Michael Maidens

23 October 2016

Pools supporters paid their respects to Michael Maidens during Saturday’s game against Leyton Orient with applause ringing out around the stadium on 25 minutes.

It was nine years ago on Wednesday that the young Pools star lost his life in a car accident, but fans have made sure that Michael has never been forgotten.

Earlier in the week, Pools players and staff had gathered by the Memorial Bench at the Club’s training ground but on Saturday it was the supporters’ turn to honour his memory.

The touching tribute began as the game reached 25 minutes, symbolising the number 25 shirt worn by Michael, which was retired by the Club following his tragic passing in 2007.
