Craig Hignett was left disappointed after seeing his side concede a last-minute goal to lose 2-1 at Doncaster Rovers.
The Pools Manager was frustrated with some of his side’s defending, which lead to both goals,
“We’ve been undone today but two poor bits of defending, where players haven’t been doing their jobs properly,” Hignett told Pools PlayerHD after the game.
“We worked hard but two lapses of concentration have cost us and that’s disappointing.
“I can’t fault their work rate or effort but we weren’t as good as we have been.
“This is a hard place to come they are a good side. But we can’t be half-hearted in approaching these games, we have to be at it.
“Work rate and attitude have to be right and discipline and concentration, right to the end and unfortunately our discipline and concentration let us down right at the end.”
Hignett had plenty of praise for the travelling army of 661 Pools fans who cheered the team all afternoon,
“They were unbelievable again, they travelled and gave us really good support right to the end.
“The performance was good against a team at the top of the league but we’re disappointed to come away with nothing. The lads are all down in there, they’re disappointed but I think a god thing is that we have a game on Tuesday night when we can put things right.”
