Team News: Pools v Accrington Stanley

21 November 2016

We take a look at the latest info from both camps ahead of Tuesday night’s Sky Bet League Two game against Accrington Stanley at The Northern Gas and Power Stadium (7.45pm kick-off).

Craig Hignett will run the rule over the fitness of Liam Donnelly after the versatile Northern Irishman missed Saturday’s game at Doncaster Rovers with a knee injury.

Trevor Carson came through the trip with no ill effects after recovering from a dislocated finger and Rob Jones is also back in the mix after getting some action from the bench following hip problem.

Pools boss Hignett has no new injury worries to contend with ahead of Stanley’s visit to the North-East, with long-term absentees Carl Magnay (knee) and Nathan Thomas (groin) remaining sidelined.

Accrington manager John Coleman will be without full-back Janoi Donacien who is out until at least the middle of next month after undergoing surgery on his ankle.

Zak Vyner returned from injury to play ninety minutes in their 1-0 defeat to Stevenage on Saturday, while Shay McCartan was also back after missing out recently due to ill health.

Front man Billy Kee came off the bench at the weekend after recovering from illness, while John O’Sullivan also played a part after injury and both will hope to press claims for a start against Pools.
