We turn our attentions to the weekend's FA Cup action with a full and in-depth preview of Sunday's game at The Northern Gas and Power Stadium.
Hartlepool United v Stamford AFC
Emirates FA Cup First Round
Sunday 6th November 2016
Stamford have already fought their way through five rounds of the FA Cup to set-up this weekend’s trip to face Pools at The Northern Gas and Power Stadium.
It’s the first time the Lincolnshire outfit have made it the First Round of the competition – and they did it the hard way, having earned an unlikely replay win away at Wrexham in the final qualifier.
Due to their cup exploits, The Daniels have fallen to 17th place in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South – though they do have several games in hand on all the teams around them.
They were beaten last time out in the league when they went down 3-2 at Basford United but will be fired up as they get back on the FA Cup trail this Sunday and Pools will know they can’t afford to take them lightly.
Former Peterborough United youngster Jevani Brown will be one of the visitors’ main threats this weekend and is certainly a player Pools will need to keep quiet.
The talented front man has already hit the net three times in the FA Cup so far this season and he will be gunning for more glory when he lines up against Pools on Sunday.
He was a regular in Posh’s Youth Team and Reserves before his release from London Road in 2014 and he’s since played for Barton Rovers, Arlesey Town, Wingate & Finchley and Kettering Town before joining Stamford in July.

It will be Anthony Backhouse’s first visit to Pools this weekend when he’s on the whistle for our FA Cup tie against Stamford.
So far this season the official has overseen games exclusively in the National League after spending recent years acting as an Assistant Referee.
His last appointed was at Southport’s Merseyrail Community Stadium as they played out a 1-1 National League draw with Sutton United.

Pools have been installed as 2/9 favourites for victory on Sunday, with visitors Stamford rated as 11/1 outsiders and odds of 11/2 on the game going to a replay.
