H'Angus To Turn On Headland Christmas Lights

24 November 2016

H’Angus the Monkey is set to officially kick-off the festive season this weekend when he turns on the Christmas Tree and illuminations on Hartlepool Headland.

The monkey mascot will join in the fun at the town’s Wintertide Festival on Friday night when celebrations will get underway with a Lantern Parade involving children from local schools, winding its way through St Hilda’s Church and in to the Town Square.

At around 6pm, H’Angus will take centre-stage when he flicks the switch to light up the Christmas Tree and some dramatic illuminations and Light Art pieces designed by local artist Stuart Langley.

There’ll also be an array of live music throughout the night in The Duke of Cleveland and The Fisherman’s Arms before the Wintertide Festival celebrations roll in to Saturday and Sunday too.

So make sure you get along and watch our very own H’Angus do the honours and get the festive season in full swing – and now doubt get up to some monkey mischief along the way!
