Hartlepool United Ladies were given a rapturous welcome at Victoria Park on Saturday when they showed off the Durham FA Women’s League Division One trophy.
Andy Stuart’s girls were the runaway winners of the league title and on Sunday they made it twelve out of twelve for the campaign when they beat Consett Ladies 4-3.
They were introduced on to the pitch at half time during Saturday’s League Two game against Portsmouth and were presented with their trophy by Keith Nobbs – the Pools legend and father to Arsenal and England star Jordan Nobbs.
Afterwards, the Ladies embarked on a lap of the pitch during which they were cheered by both Pools and Pompey fans in celebration of their achievement.
The title win means that the Club’s Ladies team will compete in the North East Women’s League Premier Division in 2016/17.
Well done to all concerned.
