Another promising youngster has signed for Pools after defender James Martin put pen to paper on a professional contract at Victoria Park.
The 17-year-old left-back spent time on trial with the Club towards the end of last season when he played in a friendly game against Fulham and for the Youth Team in their final fixture at Bradford City.
Martin has most recently been on a scholarship with Scottish Championship outfit Queen of the South but complications over international clearance north of the border meant he returned to England.
A whole-hearted and determined full-back who also likes to use his pace to get forward, Martin becomes the third youngster to agree terms with Pools this summer following the arrivals of goalkeeper Ben Dudzinski and defender Ben Pollock.
“James is another who has caught our eye and has great potential,” explained boss Craig Hignett.
“He’s a talented full-back who is aggressive out of possession and positive when on the ball so we saw plenty there to work with and we’re delighted to get him on board.”
