Team News: Crawley Town v Pools

17 March 2016

We take a look at the latest from both camps ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two game against Crawley Town at The Stadium (3pm kick-off).

Craig Hignett will assess the fitness of Rob Jones ahead of the weekend trip to face Crawley Town as the defender struggles to shake off an eye injury sustained against Dagenham & Redbridge.

The problem was enough to keep Jones out of the midweek draw at Newport County when Adam Jackson was back in the side and the Middlesbrough loanee stands by to start again on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Michael Duckworth is still working his way back after hernia surgery and Harry Worley is continuing to build his fitness after recovering from an ankle operation.

Town boss Mark Yates feels he has his strongest squad of the season, highlighted by the fact Lee Barnard and former Pools man Simon Walton were only substitutes in last weekend’s win over Luton Town.

They have been able to add to the squad in recent weeks with the arrival of Liam McAlinden on loan from Wolves and the front man went in straight in to make his full debut against The Hatters.

Joe McNerney played in a friendly against Portsmouth on Monday but is lacking match sharpness after missing much of the season with a knee injury. Tom Dallison (toe) and Jimmy Smith (foot) also remain sidelined.
