A Pools Reserve side ran out 3-1 winners over a young Newcastle United line-up in a behind-closed doors friendly on Wednesday afternoon.
Harry Worley played for the first time since September and got through 75 minutes after recovering from ankle surgery, while Dan Jones also played after shaking-off a knee injury.
Pools fell behind to a sloppy goal early on but were on level terms when a deep corner from Kudus Oyenuga was nodded back across goal by Worley to Rakish Bingham who finished well.
Bingham was involved in the goal that put Pools in front for the first time when he flicked on for Oyenuga to drive past two defenders and finish neatly to make it 2-1.
And substitute Jack Blackford secured the victory late on when he started and finished a flowing move that began on the halfway line with a cool finish when through on goal.
