James 8/1 For First Goal Against Bees

4 March 2016

We take a look at the best of the betting odds ahead of Saturday's game at Barnet.

You can get odds of 14/5 on Pools returning from Barnet with all three points this weekend, while the hosts have been installed as 1/1 favourites and a draw is available at a price of 12/5.

It’s been almost nine years since Pools last made a trip to Barnet and that to The Bees’ previous home at Underhill – do you fancy us to triumph on our first trip to The Hive?

If so, then Sky Bet have some great markets and odds for you to back Craig Hignett’s men for success – how about 9/1 on a 1-0 win, 12/1 on it being 2-1 in our favour or 18/1 on us winning 2-0?

Billy Paynter has been in top form since returning from injury and it’s no surprise that he’s Pools’ best bet for the opening goal at 7/1, but Luke James is decent value just behind at 8/1.

Further down the first scorers chart you get even better value – Jake Carroll still tempts us at 40/1, while Adam Jackson remains at 50/1 despite scoring twice recently.

New signing Rob Jones has always been good for a goal throughout his career and you can back this week’s new arrival to score first on Saturday at 50/1 or 16/1 to score at any time.

For both teams to score and Pools to run out winners looks a decent bet at 13/2, while the 45/1 available on Billy Paynter to score the only goal in a 1-0 win is another worth looking at.

Remember, if you’re having a flutter this weekend make sure you do it via Sky Bet and the links in this story because that way every bet can directly help the Club.
