The Pools squad will prepare for the 2016/17 campaign in style by spending a week at a state-of-the-art training camp in Tenerife.
The T3 facility in La Caleta boasts two natural grass pitches, a 3G artificial pitch and specialist areas for goalkeeper training which will provide optimal conditions for the players.
The training base – which has been used by Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester City in the past – will be home to Craig Hignett and his squad for seven days in July.
Whilst in Tenerife, the players will be put through their paces during a rigorous training programme and will also be tested by a couple of friendlies against local opposition.
There will be access to indoor and outdoor gyms on-site, plus swimming pools, leisure facilities and cutting edge recovery technology to ensure the players can do everything possible to build fitness.
“It’s a fantastic facility so to get all the lads away for a week will aid the team spirit and allow us to do some really specific work,” explained boss Craig Hignett.
“Hopefully we’ll have a few new faces in the group by then and to be in each other’s pockets for seven days will accelerate them getting to know one another.
“The place there really is top notch; the pitches are fantastic, they have everything you need on-site and I think it shows the direction the Club is moving in that we’re going to places like this.”
