There has already been talk among fans online about what the fancy-dress theme could be when Pools descend on Cheltenham Town for their final away game of 2016/17.
The League Two fixtures for the new term were released on Wednesday morning and Pools will complete another epic season of travelling when they play at Whaddon Road on the penultimate Saturday of the campaign.
Pools fans have become the source of nationwide scrutiny on their final away trip of each season, famed for donning identical fancy-dress costumes to support the players on their travels.
In previous years, supporters have caught the imagination dressed as Oompa Loompas, Where’s Wallys, Smurfs, Penguins and, of course, Stormtroopers at Plymouth Argyle last season.
This year’s it’s Cheltenham Town who will be bracing themselves for an influx of Pools fans dressed in unison and boss Craig Hignett is already looking forward to it.
“It’s another long trip for them but at least they have plenty of time between now and then to work out what they’ve going to dress up as,” he laughed.
“Dressing up for the last away game has obviously become a massive tradition for the Club and it’s something that Pools fans have a reputation for now.
“No doubt it will be a fantastic day for them again, even though it isn’t the closest, so it’s something for everyone to look forward to – hopefully it can be an enjoyable for everyone.”
