Young Pools Side To Face Spennymoor

22 July 2016

A young Pools side will take on Spennymoor Town in a pre-season friendly to be played at Billingham Town on Friday evening (7.30pm kick-off).

Sam Collins will take charge of the team, which is an opportunity for some of the younger professionals and Youth Team players to get some minutes under their belt.

Ben Dudzinski will start in goal, while James Martin, Josh Nearney and Ben Pollock will all take a place in the back four against The Moors.

Brad Walker and Jack Blackford both start in midfield, with Connor Smith shrugging off an ankle injury to take his place in the line-up.

Collins has also included trialist trio Ross Colquhoun, Kieran Dover and Lewis Suddock in his starting eleven, while another three unnamed trailists will be among the substitutes.

Spennymoor will offer Pools’ young side a considerable test having brought in several new players during the summer months, including former Victoria Park keeper Andy Rafferty.

The game is being played at Billingham Town while The Moors complete ground improvements at their Brewery Field home.

Admission prices are £3 for adults and £1 for over 60s, under 19s and students.
