Young Reserve Side To Take On Magpies

26 January 2016

A young Pools Reserve side will be in action on Tuesday afternoon when they make the trip to face Notts County in the Final Third Development League (2pm kick-off).

John Hewitson and Ian McGuckin will once again lead the side and they’ll be looking to build on last week’s thumping 4-0 win over Rotherham United.

Five professionals are included in the line-up with Dan Jones, Josh Nearney, Ebby Nelson-Addy, Kudus Oyenuga and Connor Smith all set to start against The Magpies.

There is also a second chance for Sheffield United duo Julian Banton and Jamie McDonagh to impress as the two trialists are included from the start again for Tuesday’s game.

“It was a strong performance last week and we’re looking for something similar again,” Hewitson explained.

“It’s a younger team this week but there is still plenty of ability in the line-up and hopefully these players can take their opportunities to impress.”

The game takes place at Meadow Lane and we’ll have a full report here on the Official Website after the final whistle.
