Jake Carroll and Rhys Oates went along to Northfield School and Sports College in Billingham on Monday to help out at a female football coaching session.
The pair joined Keith Nobbs to deliver his regular coaching session for the group of girls.
Jake Carroll is this season’s HUCSF Female Football Ambassador and attends regular sessions around the local area.
“Women’s football is massive right now, especially after the success of the England team in the recent World Cup, and I am delighted to be playing my part in the local community,” Jake told us.
“My sister plays football back in Ireland for a team called UCD Waves and has recently gained a scholarship through her University for playing football which just shows the progress being made.
“I think girls now can see that there is a clear pathway for them if they want to take up playing football and it’s important we continue to encourage as many as possible to take part.
“The numbers of girls playing football locally at the schools we attend is impressive and the standard is very high so hopefully they can continue to enjoy it.”
