Saturday’s game against Newport County has been postponed following an 8am pitch inspection at Rodney Parade.
Heavy overnight rain left the playing surface extremely wet and concerned County officials contacted the referee to arrange an early-morning inspection.
Unfortunately, it was subsequently decided that the pitch was unplayable and Ronnie Moore’s men have now once again been left without a game.
The Boxing Day fixture against Notts County also fell foul of the weather, while the scheduled trip to Carlisle United on Monday 28th December was postponed due to the flooding in Cumbria.
It means that Pools have still not played a game since their meeting with Plymouth Argyle on Saturday 19th December and now won’t return to action until next weekend’s FA Cup tie against Derby County.
We would like to thank Newport County for keeping us informed of developments on Saturday morning.
No new date has yet been arranged for the fixture but we’ll have details as soon as they’re confirmed. Fans who have bought tickets will be able to claim a refund or use their tickets for the re-arranged game.
