Boss Wants Another Determined Display

19 January 2016

Ronnie Moore has labelled John Coleman’s work at Accrington Stanley as “genius” but is still confident Pools can come home from The Crown Ground with a result on Tuesday night.

The Pools boss is full of admiration for the way Stanley have emerged as one of the dark horses for promotion this season and knows his side face a difficult midweek assignment.

Despite a series of frustrating postponements which has meant they have not played on home soil since mid-November, The Reds remain in the League Two play-off positions prior to kick-off tonight.

However, fresh from a confidence-boosting weekend win over Wycombe Wanderers at The Vic and with new signing Ellis Harrison joining the squad, Moore is feeling positive ahead of the trip to Lancashire.

“It was a great result at the weekend – we needed it and we had to work very hard for it," Moore told Pools PlayerHD.

“We’ve got another new signing in now as well which we’re pleased about so we’re looking forward to Tuesday’s game even though we know it will be tough.

“Accrington have been fantastic this season and what John has done with the players there has been genius really when you look at the budget he’s working on.

“For us, Saturday’s result is gone, it’s in the history books and we won 1-0 – now we have to go to Accrington with the same determination and organisation and hopefully we can come away with something.”
