We take a look at the latest from both camps ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two game against Cambridge United at The Northern Gas and Power Stadium (3pm kick-off).
Craig Hignett will welcome Scott Harrison back in to contention this weekend after the defender was forced to sit out Sunday’s FA Cup tie at Port Vale through suspension.
Rob Jones was stretchered off during the second half of that game at Vale Park after twisting his knee and he looks likely to remain sidelined for the visit of Cambridge.
The Pools boss must run the rule over the fitness of Liam Donnelly who has missed the last four games with a knee injury and is still a doubt for Saturday.
Other than that, Hignett has no new injury worries with Carl Magnay (knee) and Nathan Thomas (groin) both still on the treatment table long-term.
U’s boss Shaun Derry is without long-serving defender Josh Coulson who has been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on an ankle injury.
Winger Medy Elito has also been sidelined in recent weeks with a knee problem which flared up during their First Round FA Cup tie and requires rest.
