Pools Reserves are in action on Tuesday afternoon when they host Chesterfield in the Central League at Billingham Town (2pm kick-off).
Sam Collins will once again lead the side and he hopes to be able to include a trio of trialists for the clash against The Spireites.
Jamie Mascoll, Adrian Vranic and Matt Young have all been in training with the squad in recent days and the Club is working on gaining clearance for all of them to feature for the Reserves.
After winning their first games of the season in all competitions, Pools Reserves’ form has stuttered recently and they have now been beaten in their last three outings.
However, Collins is confident that they can get back on track against a Chesterfield side who are one place and three points below in the North East division.
“We’ve won three of our four league games so far and we want to try and continue that on now,” Collins explained.
“We’ve got a chance to go to the top of the league over Christmas so, even though results aren’t the be all and end all at this level, it’s a nice incentive for the lads.
“There has been some good football played by the Reserves this season and we’ve scored plenty of goals so I want to see us try and get on the front foot again this afternoon.”
Former Pools star Ritchie Humphreys will be at Billingham Town this afternoon as he’s in charge of Chesterfield’s Reserve side this season.
Season Ticket holders can get in to the game for free, while regular admission prices are £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.
We’ll have a full report and reaction to the game here on the Official Website following the final whistle.
