Reserves Beaten By Boro In Friendly

4 August 2016

A young Pools Reserve side were beaten 2-1 in a behind-closed-doors friendly with Middlesbrough Under-23s on Thursday afternoon.

Boro took the lead through Marcus Tavernier in the game – which was played at Pools’ Maiden Castle training ground – but Rhys Oates hit the net to bring the teams level just before break.

However, Tavernier added his second of the afternoon in the second half to ensure Boro’s Under-23 continued their perfect pre-season with a sixth straight victory.

Scott Harrison started in the game as he looks to clinch a new deal with the Club, while summer recruits Ben Dudzinski and James Martin were also in the team led by Sam Collins.
