Oates Starts For Pools In Trophy Tie

31 August 2016

Craig Hignett has made six changes for this evening’s Checkatrade Trophy game at Notts County.

Adam Bartlett replaces Trevor Carson in goal, with the number one keeper away on international duty with Northern Ireland.

Scott Harrison starts in the centre of defence alongside Toto Nsiala, while Josh Laurent, Nicky Deverdics and Lewis Hawkins all come into the middle.

Rhys Oates partners Billy Paynter up front, while Hignett also names a very young bench – with only Michael Woods a First Team regular.

Subs Ben Pollock, Jake Orrell and James Martin are all named in the senior squad for the first time.

Notts County: Loach, Audel, Laing, Hollis, Dickinson, Rodman, Aborah, Burke, Richards, Campbell, Snijders.
Subs: Collin, Hewitt, Smith, Wildin, Edwards, Milsom, Atkinson.

Pools: Bartlett, Richards, Nsiala, Harrison, Carroll, Laurent, Hawkins, Deverdics, Alessandra, Paynter, Oates.
Subs: Dudzinski, Woods, Pollock, Orrell, Smith, Green, Martin.
