Carson Called Up By Northern Ireland

24 August 2016

Pools goalkeeper Trevor Carson has been called-up by Northern Ireland for their World Cup qualifier against the Czech Republic on Sunday 4th September.

The 28-year-old will now miss Pools’ Checkatrade Trophy visit to Notts County next Wednesday and the League Two game at Stevenage on Saturday 3rd September.

Carson was also called-up for his country last term when he was an unused substitute in their 1-1 draw against Wales in March and was also involved in an end of season training camp in Manchester.

The Pools star will now battle Norwich City’s Michael McGovern and St Johnstone’s Alan Mannus for the Northern Ireland number one spot ahead of their opening qualification game at The Generali Arena in Prague.
