Pools have completed the signing of Middlesbrough front man Bradley Fewster on a half-season loan deal.
The 20-year-old forward already has experience of playing in League Two having scored eight goals in 24 appearances for York City last term.
Highly-rated Fewster has come through the ranks at Middlesbrough before signing a professional contract and making his senior debut in a League Cup game against Preston North End in August 2014.
Craig Hignett was Fewster’s Under-13 coach at Boro and the Pools boss has kept tabs on his progress ever since so is delighted to have been able to bring him to The Northern Gas and Power Stadium.
“I have known Brad since he was 12 really,” Hignett explained.
“I know what he’s all about and I knew when he went to York last season that he would do well and score some goals.
“He’s a finisher who comes alive in the box; his movement is good and he’s a bit different from the other options we have in the squad so I’m delighted to get him.”
Fewster trained with his new team-mates for the first time on Tuesday morning and has been handed squad number 32.
