Stuart Parnaby has announced his retirement from professional football after picking up an injury playing for Pools Reserves at Scunthorpe United on Tuesday.
The 33-year-old joined Pools last summer but injury restricted him to only five appearances before he spent six months on the sidelines following knee surgery.
Parnaby was released by the Club at the end of last term but has been in training with the squad since they returned for pre-season, also helping out behind the scenes with Physio Ian Gallagher.
However, the former England Under-21 international has now decided to call time on his playing career after behind forced off just fourteen minutes in to Tuesday’s Reserve game with a calf injury.
Everyone at Hartlepool United would like to wish him all the very best for the future.
