Pools Youth Team were given tips on how to use social media effectively and positively when sports journalist Cathy Wood visited Victoria Park recently.
Cathy is an expert in the field of social media and works closely with the LFE (League Football Education) in delivering tuition to young footballers on making the most of their online presence.
The session, which lasted around two hours, was held in the Club’s Centenary Lounge and the players were encouraged to commit to taking positive steps to improve their social media behaviour.
“It was a really interesting and worthwhile seminar,” explained Youth Development Manager John Hewitson.
“With the popularity of sites such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram it’s crucial that all players are aware of their responsibilities as potential role models for supporters.
“This session was part of the overall education programme we deliver to our young players in conjunction with the LFE and in combination with their football activities.”
