Ronnie Moore was left to rue his side’s missed chances as they were forced to settle for a point in Tuesday’s encounter with Barnet at Victoria Park.
Moore’s men got off to the ideal start when Rhys Oates prodded in his first goal for the Club inside ten minutes, but The Bees got themselves in the second half when John Akinde found the target.
The Pools boss admitted afterwards that it was a case of what could have been for the team but insisted they must remain positive as they look forward to hosting Crawley Town on Saturday.
“We’ve thrown it away, we know that,” Moore told Pools PlayerHD.
“We had enough chances to win two or three games and then we got caught with the sucker punch – and I was stood there watching, knowing that it was coming.
“Some of our chances were clear-cut too and if you’re going win games you need to take those opportunities and unfortunately for us we didn’t.
“We’re going to give someone a good hiding one of these days, there’s no doubt about that, but I just hope it’s sooner rather than later.
“But I have said to them there not to get their heads down or be despondent because that’s two games where we haven’t lost – and if you can’t win a game then you don’t lose.
“If we do things right on Saturday then we come away with seven points and then it will have been a good week but there is still a lot to do.”
