Pools have added another new face to their squad with the arrival of Magnus Okuonghae on loan from Luton Town
Experienced defender Okuonghae signed for Luton in the summer after leaving Colchester United where he had spent six years, making over 200 appearances.
The 29-year-old has made just two appearances for The Hatters this season – both in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy – and he has now been allowed to go out on loan.
And with Ronnie Moore making no secret of the fact that he has been in the market for an experienced defender, he was keen to secure the services of Okuonghae.
The Pools boss was at Kenilworth Road recently to watch Okuonghae in action first-hand and was impressed with what he saw.
"He is strong and powerful, dominant in the air and he can be a leader," Moore explained.
"The game I went to was a Reserve fixture and you could clearly hear him on the pitch organising his team-mates; that vocal quality and know-how is exactly what we're after so we're delighted to get him."
Okuonghae, who has joined Pools for an initial one-month loan, completed the paperwork at the team hotel on Friday night ahead of the game at Dagenham & Redbridge.
He has been handed squad number 29 and should join fellow new boys Luke Hendrie and Jason Banton in the squad for Saturday, subject to Football League clearance.
