Sam Collins delighted pupils in our Study Support Centre on Thursday afternoon when he spent time answering some of their questions about his career.
The Pools Assistant Manager called in to surprise the youngsters who were working in the Victoria Lounge and spent almost an hour being grilled by them and signing autographs.
Collins was quizzed on his favourite match as a player, how many clubs he played for, how he and the staff decide upon the team and who his favourite player in the squad is!
There was an extra surprise for the Stranton Primary students when the boss himself Ronnie Moore turned up to sign some autographs for them too.
“It was a great afternoon and I got asked about lots of different topics!” Collins explained.
“It’s brilliant to see the youngsters back in the stadium learning through football and hopefully being in this environment and meeting people who work and play for the Club can help inspire them.
“Some of them could certainly be the next generation of journalists because they left no stone unturned!”
Collins’ visit was one of regular interaction with pupils who are working in a purpose-built education facilities at The Vic as part of a brand new Study Support Centre scheme.
